"Wszystko od razu" - the Museum's 18th birthday

EVERYTHING AT ONCE, or the EIGHTEENTH BIRTHDAY OF THE MUSEUM OF MODERN ART IN WARSAW at DEFILAD PLACE. 13-14 MAY 2023

The Museum of Modern Art has turned 18! To mark the occasion, we would like to invite everyone to Defilad Square on the weekend of 13 and 14 May to celebrate our birthday. Overlooking the new MSN headquarters, on the open-air stage in front of the Studio Theatre, performances will include SZCZYL: 8171 LIVE, Filipka Rutkowska, the DJ duo of Agnieszka Szydłowska and Dorota Masłowska, and Facheroia.

The celebrations will begin on Saturday 13 May at 21:00 with a surprise performance. Then Szczyl and his band will appear on stage, followed by DJ sets by the duo Agnieszka Szydłowska and Dorota Masłowska as well as the Ukrainian-born Facheroia. Let's dance!

On Sunday, 14 May, we invite you to breakfast on Plac Defilad prepared by the Solidarny Dom Kultury "Słonecznik" and the ГALAS collective - a charity project founded in Warsaw by people from Ukraine. The Society of Friends of the MSN will be selling limited editions of works by contemporary artists. And under the banner of 'Museum Birthday', Paweł Althamer and the Nowolipie Group will invite people to a large table on the square to create together as part of the Drawers/Women's Congress. At noon there will be an opportunity to take part in a performative walk with Alicja Nauman. There will be a birthday cake prepared by Karolina Konopka, an artist working in sculpture, painting and confectionery.

We will start the afternoon with a talk about the history of the MSN and the book All at Once. The First 18 Years of the MSN. As Stach Szabłowski, author of the book's main text, writes: 'the first eighteen years helped the Museum to become [...] an absolutely modern institution, which today means [...] that you have to be ready for everything'.
