Friends at Hotel Warszawa Art Fair
Nikita Kadan's show

The Friends of the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw invite you to an exhibition by Ukrainian artist Nikita Kadan.

Kadan's practice addresses issues related to the politics of commemoration and the writing of historical narratives, the relationship between collective and individual memory, and the history of the former Eastern Bloc countries. The artist's works are present in many collections worldwide, including Centre Pompidou in Paris, mumok in Vienna and the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw.

This show is an introduction to the artist's body of work in the context of Kadan’s sculpture, which is set to be created and unveiled in Warsaw's Bródno Sculpture Park in the spring of 2024. The sculpture will be produced with the support of our members. The artist's sketch of the sculpture made for the occasion and an original drawing, based on which we will soon issue an artist edition, will be presented by the Friends for the first time at Hotel Warszawa Art Fair. In addition to works on canvas and paper, the exhibition will feature a selection of video works by artists whose oeuvres resonate with Kadan's practice, chosen by the artist himself. The exhibition is curated by Helena Czernecka.
